Creating Your Profile

Create your Profile so that Treasurebee sellers can get to know you.  This is public information you’re sharing with sellers so they can showcase inventory that may be of interest to you.

Important!  Sellers will see your Profile only after you initiate contact with them, or after you provide a post-sale review of the seller.

Display Image

Choose a display image of yourself showing sellers who you are.  A profile image of you provides a level of comfort for sellers not found on your typical e-classified.

Your Display Name (required)

We recommend that you use your real name for your Display Name.  You also have the option to use a pseudonym or nickname as is common in many enthusiast communities.

About You

Describe yourself and any important details that might be relevant.  This information is helpful to sellers on Treasurebee who may have similar interests or inventory that may be of interest to you.

Navigating Treasurebee

Introduction

In the top-right corner of your screen you will see two icons which you can scroll over to quickly access your content.  To navigate Treasurebee on a smartphone or small tablet computer, click on the sidebar menu button (the three-lined icon) in the top-right corner of your screen.  Briefly:

  • Notifications Bell – Shows your most recent notifications, including your purchase activities and updates from Treasurebee.  To see all of your activity, select “View All Activity” (or you can select “Dashboard” in your navigation bar, as described below);
  • Profile Image – Shows your account settings (Profile, Invite FriendsSettings and Sign Out).

Your Navigation Bar
The purple navigation bar that extends across the top of your screen includes the following tabs: Dashboard, Messages, Offers and Purchased.  See below for an overview of the tabs and how to use them.

Dashboard

Dashboard is a quick snapshot of your most recent purchase activity.  Color codes are used to indicate the type of conversation.  Just select a message to be taken to it’s corresponding details.

  • A Green Flag – Indicates when an offer was accepted, a payment was made, or other action related to the offer;
  • A Red Flag – Indicates an offer was declined or rescinded;
  • A Purple Flag – Indicates a communication from Treasurebee, such as a reminder to pay for shipping, account changes you’ve made, video calls and messages you have missed.

Messages

Messages is your list of contacts.  It includes the conversations that have taken place through Treasurebee’s Messaging feature.  Here are actions you can take when searching Messages:

  • Find a Contact – Sort alphabetically or chronologically (by date);
  • View Conversation – Click on the contact name and you’ll be taken to the most recent conversation with that contact;
  • Search Within a Conversation – Enter a keyword in the Search Conversation box in the top-right corner of the conversation page.

Offers

Offers is a quick way to see all of your most recent conversations with a seller where a price is being negotiated.  Specifically, this means either you or the seller have entered a price into the Price Input box in Treasurebee’s Messaging feature.  There are a few different ways to view and filter your offers:

  • All Offers – Made or received, organized chronologically (by date);
  • Offers Pending – Only the offers that are pending;
  • Offers Accepted – Only the offers that have been accepted.  Accepted offers will remain here until you have made payment to complete your purchase.  Once payment has been made, visit the Purchases tab for details regarding the transaction;
  • Offers Declined – Only the offers that have been declined.

Important!  The price must be entered into the Price input box for a conversation to appear in your Offers tab in the Messaging feature.  Prices that are only communicated verbally between you and the seller (during a video call) or entered only into the Text input box will not appear in Offers.

You can also take specific offer related actions on the Offers tab by selecting:

  • Accept – To accept an offer;
  • Counter – To counter an offer that has been made to you by a seller.  You can also select “Decline” to decline an offer and then create a new offer by selecting the “Click Here to Make an Offer” button in the Messaging feature;
  • Decline – To decline an offer;
  • Rescind – To rescind your latest offer.

Note:  Please keep in mind that Offer messages will include “up” and “down” arrows on the left corner of each.  An “up” arrow means that you sent an offer to a seller.  A “down” arrow means that you received an offer from a seller.

Contacting Sellers Through Video Call and/or Messaging

Introduction

There are multiple ways to contact sellers to speak with or make purchases on Treasurebee.  The green Online or Live Event labels on listings in search results indicate a seller is available to receive a video call from you.  It is only after you have initiated contact with a seller, that they will be able to contact you through Messaging, and will have access to your public Profile information.

Important! All transaction details and payments are accomplished through Treasurebee’s Messaging feature (whether you’re communicating with sellers by video and messaging, or messaging alone).  Use of the video call feature is not required to process transactions.  See below to learn how to contact sellers on Treasurebee.

Note: Please keep in mind that the Messaging feature opens up automatically, adjacent to the video call window when you contact a seller by video call.

Initiating Contact with a Seller

To initiate contact with a seller that you have not communicated with previously, you can either use the Video Call feature or send a Message, or make an offer on an item they have posted For Sale.

Contacting a Seller for the First Time Using the Video Call Feature

To initiate a video call with a seller that you have not communicated with previously, go to the seller’s Profile page, Live Event listing or For Sale listing.  There are four video call settings that indicate the status of the seller, as described below:

  • Online – Indicated by a green banner, means the seller is available to receive video calls from you;
  • Live Event – Also indicated by a green banner, means the seller is Online and available to receive video calls, from their Live Event;
  • Away – Indicated by a yellow banner, means the seller is temporarily unavailable to receive video calls;
  • Offline – Indicated by a gray banner, means the seller is not available to receive video calls.  In this case you can send a Message to the seller.  To send a Message to the seller, visit their Profile page and select the “Message” button.

Note:  Please keep in mind that shopping on Treasurebee with a video call is similar to shopping in a brick and mortar store or calling a seller on the phone.  Sometimes a seller may ask for your patience as they attend to other business, before they can speak with you.

How to Search for Transaction Related Information in the Messaging Feature

We’ve made it easy to search each message conversation with sellers, for transaction related information.  To find a specific keyword or phrase just enter it into the Search Conversation box in the top-right corner of your screen.

How to Find the Current Offer in a Negotiation

In the Messaging feature, once negotiations have begun with a seller, you can easily find the most current offer.  To find the most current offer, select the blue “Click Here to See Current Offer” button to view details.

How to Purchase with Buy Now

To purchase a Buy Now item:

  • Select “Buy Now” if the button is enabled;
  • Confirm Offer Details (items included, price), your shipping address and payment details;
  • Enter Price in the Price input box;
  • Select “Purchase” to pay for the item.

Note: When viewing an item For Sale, you may see that a seller is Online and available for a video call.  Using the Video Call feature in this commercial context is a way to speak face-to-face with a seller, get to know a seller, view a products functionality, authenticate the item is what you want and more… before purchasing the item.

Whether you initiate a video call or not, items listed as “Buy Now”, are available to purchase immediately.  However, large items may not include shipping cost for the following reasons:

  • The seller doesn’t know at the time of listing where the item is going to be shipped, and therefore doesn’t know the shipping cost in advance.  Because of this scenario, someBuy Now items may require contacting the seller prior to making the purchase to discuss shipping method and cost from seller’s location to buyers;
  • The item(s) may be available only for local pick up from the seller.  In this case, you may contact the seller either before or after purchasing the items to discuss the details for local pick up.

Shipping Options

Introduction

We recognize that shipping details are an important point of discussion with sellers before a transaction is completed.  As with any purchase, sellers will have their own preferred methods of shipping.

For all transactions (whether accomplished through video call or messaging) we have provided the following shipping options:

Included in Price

When you shop you have the option to limit your search to items where the shipping cost is included in the price.

To Be Determined

If you make a purchase and the method and cost of shipping have not been determined at the time of sale (ex: because your shipping address is needed to determine the shipping price), a second transaction will be required so you can pay for shipping.  We recommend that sellers provide you with a price quote for the cost and method of shipping as per agreement with you, but no later than forty-eight (48) hours of receipt of payment.

Once the terms and method of shipping have been agreed on, follow the steps below to process the shipping payment:

  • Select “Purchased” in your navigation;
  • Select  Confirmation Receipt for the purchase;
  • Review Your Shipping Details;
  • Select “Click Here to Pay For Shipping;”
  • Confirm Your Payment Details;
  • Select “Purchase” to make your shipping payment;
  • After you pay for shipping it is the seller’s responsibility to ship the item to you as agreed upon.

We recommend that you agree to and pay for shipping within forty-eight (48) hours of receiving the shipping quote from the seller.  If you are unable to pay for shipping within forty-eight (48) hours, your transaction may be cancelled.  Refunds made because of failure to pay shipping are between buyer and seller (minus any restocking fee, if agreed upon).

Pick Up Only

If you feel the most efficient way to buy something is locally, limit your search to Pick Up Only.

Providing a Review of a Seller

Please remember that the use of video in the transaction is for both buyer and sellers convenience.

To post a review of a seller:

  • Select “Purchased in your navigation;
  • Select the Confirmation Receipt from the seller you’d like to review;
  • Select the Number of Stars you would like to give the seller (1 = less than average, 5 = outstanding);
  • Write Your Review in the text box provided;
  • Select “Submit” to post your review.

If Meeting Someone In-Person for the First Time

  • Tell the seller you will meet them in a public location like a café or shopping center, or a place that you mutually determine;

  • Take your mobile phone along with you;
  • Trust your instincts.
